David Earl Goodwin, age 66, of Tuscaloosa, died Sept. 10, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death his wife, Alla Jeanette Goodwin, and his parents, William Arvis and Lela Keebler Goodwin.
Survivors include his former wife, Mavis Goodwin; his daughters, Melissa Hicks of Centreville and Betsy Herron of Cottondale; his sister, Martha Myers (Nick) of South Carolina; his brother, Bill Goodwin (Carolyn) of Tuscaloosa; and four grandchildren.
David loved his family and friends dearly and was dearly loved in return.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Harless, Jason Harless, Scott Barton, Walid Kanso, Ronnie Pugh, and Gary Anderson.
Honorary pallbearers are Gail Harless, his special little buddy Landon Harless, Judy Kanso, Stacey Harless, Kathy and Lindsey Pugh, Sandra Anderson, Jimmy Pryor, Chad Christian, David McIntosh, Raymond Junkin, Ronnie Taylor, and Wayne, Janet, Michael, and William Wayne Puckett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
