Doris S. McBrayer, age 71, of Tuscaloosa passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie P. and Oda Boggs Stevens of Tuscaloosa, AL; husband Buford McBrayer of Tuscaloosa, AL; brother Charles Stevens of Duncanville, AL; nephew Johnny Stevens; and previous husband and father of her children, Billy Stillwell of Northport.
Doris is survived by her daughter Sandra Stillwell Hunter (Joey) of Northport and her son David A. Stillwell (Amanda) of Northport; grandchildren Ashley Hunter of Columbus, GA, Ross Hunter (Kassie) of Hope Mills, NC, Jake Hunter (Danielle) of Macon, GA, Joel Wicken of Northport, AL, and Joseph Stillwell of Northport, AL; great-grandchildren Kinleigh and Josie Hunter of Hope Mills, NC.
Doris “Jeanette” graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1964. She worked many years at and retired from Partlow State School as secretary to the director. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, Bama football, shopping, her precious grandchildren and loving on her little dog “Sugar”.
Visitation will be Friday, August 31, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 beginning at 2:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Bro. James Walker will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Ross Hunter, Jake Hunter, Joel Wicken, Joseph Stillwell, Ronald Boggs and Donald Boggs. Honorary pallbearers will be JoAnn and Woody Sexton and family, James and Shirley Hunter, Tony and Sheila Crawford, Sandra Atchenon and family, longtime friends Cynthia Kemp, Barbara Carter, Carol Mills, Dr. David Hinton and MACC staff, Hospice of West Alabama and neighbors of Weatherby.
