Faye Elizabeth Tierce Condo

Faye Elizabeth Tierce Condo, age 77, of Tuscaloosa, departed this life Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at her home. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. Private family services will be held Thursday with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, in charge of arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Condo; her parents, Robert C. and Gena Turner Tierce; her sisters, Bertie Mae Sawyer, Kathryn Holt, and Shirley Powell; her brothers, William P. McGee, Daniel P. McGee, and Robert C. Tierce, Jr.; and special friend, Joe Guida.

Survivors include her daughters, Marion Colburn of Tuscaloosa, Sheri Condo of Birmingham, and Angela Dunscombe (Mike) of Northport; her sons, Chris Condo (Aundrea) of Tuscaloosa, Frank Condo of Pelham, and Edward C. Condo of San Juan, Calif.; her sister, Jean Smith (G.W.) of Tuscaloosa; her grandchildren, Fantasy Gentner (Ken), Elizabeth Colburn, Edward Dean Colburn, Tyler McDaniel, Sammi Condo, Amanda McDaniel, Camnden Condo, Rachel McDaniel, Bella Condo, Emily Kate McDaniel, Christopher Condo, and Kaitlyn Condo; and her great-grandchildren, Ryan, Martrell, Devon, Kyle, Julian, Brooke, Damaria, and DJ.

Faye was born in Northport, Ala. on March 5, 1933. She was a 1951 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. She spent three years in the U.S. Air Force, where she met and married her husband of 43 years. His military career led them to reside in many places across the U.S. and abroad. Faye never met a stranger and will be missed by the many who knew her, loved her, and laughed with her.

Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Greg Smith, Steve Kizziah, Glenn Boyd, Mike Dunscombe, and Tyler McDaniel.

Honorary pallbearers include Alacare Hospice, Dr. Douglas Reynolds, Caring Days, Tuscaloosa Post Office, DCH Interventional Radiology, Salon Bella, Betty Jo and Ed Watkins, Boyd Concrete, former employees of Then Again Northport, and friends and neighbors of the Yellow Creek community.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the hospice of one's choice.
