

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter N. and Ann Bell Evans, his grandfather Freddie B. Smith, and his uncles Walter R. Evans, Doug Smith, and Dennis Holemon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Clayton Evans, his sons Miller, Fisher and Silas, his parents George and Judy Evans, his grandmother Lougene Smith Watson, his sister Jessica Ann Phillips (Hunter), his brother Eric Swanson (Hannah), his in-laws Jim and Gloria Clayton, his sister-in-law Mallory Clayton Foster (Ryan), his nephews Rhett Phillips and Clayton Kade Foster, his niece Annabelle Phillips and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nick loved his family, his friends and spending time in the outdoors- particularly fishing and hunting with family and friends, and his tracking companion, his dog- Winston. Nick was a Christian and member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was employed by Hunt Refining Company where his coworkers were considered his family. His smile and sense of humor were infectious. He was one-of-a-kind and loved by everyone who knew him. The legacies he leaves behind are his work ethic and his love for his family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Hunter Phillips, Eric Swanson, Josh Evans, David Richardson, Matt Richardson, Adam Fair, Andrew Gore, Hunter Elmore, and Chase Hamner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Jones, Cody Jones, Joshua Adams, Ryan Foster, Keith Simpson, Jackson Simpson, Wes Scarbrough, John Wesley Scarbrough, Bradley Porter, Clay Rigsby, Ryan Sullivan, Dexter Black, Kevin Fendley, Daniel Cobb, John Ed Cargile, Joey Elam, Clay Matthews, Clay Madison, Todd Hudson and all other friends and coworkers of Hunt Refining Company, as well as the Faculty and Staff of Northport Elementary School and the Doctors, Nurses and Staff of DCH Regional Medical Center MICU- 1st floor.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7th, 2021 from 4-7pm at Sunset Funeral Home.
There will be a private family service officiated by Reverend Tim Tindle on Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with interment following at Mt. Olive Baptist Cemetery.
