Jan Naugher of Northport, Alabama, died on March 4, 2024 at DCH hospital. She will join her Dad, Norman and grandparents Fred & Mattie Naugher and Jim & Clara Mae Oswalt, her Aunt Polly and Uncle Wilton Patterson, Uncle Jimmy Oswalt, and her sweetheart, Ted Williamson.
She leaves behind her Mom, Nell Naugher, devoted brother, Marty and a host of friends and acquaintances.
She fulfilled her life as best she could with a handicap but now we know she is “perfect at last.”
Going to hear music, seeing and riding the helicopter with Harold (she thought he piloted all the helicopters), and listening to Mary Dell play piano were her favorites. Love and visits from many friends gave her much happiness. She loved everyone, especially her childhood playmates and was elated to have them visit. She loved and played with her cousins: Wanda, Rene and Jimmy, Beverly and Tracy, Larry and Teresa, and Wilene and Peggy. Later on, she loved their spouses and their children. She would have shared that love with Sharon (my brother’s daughter, my niece) whom we never met due to circumstances. These last years she met new friends at Eagles Wings, Incorporated and awoke each morning excited.
Special thanks to her caregivers at her home until September 9, 2019 and Eagles Wings Day Habilitation program and the Eagles Wings residence. All she knew was love and we will miss her so much.
We are grateful to our many friends at Carolwood Church, neighbors on Tom Montgomery Road and Charlie Shirley Road, her special caregivers who cared for her so graciously and returned her love, wonderful nurses and staff of the 6th floor south at DCH, musicians and friends at Lake Tuscaloosa Opry, Jimmy Rogers Band, Don Holt, Bluegrass fans everywhere, and special friends and strangers who gave us comfort.
We invite everyone to say goodby with visitation at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Sunset Brown-Service Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, is honored to serve the Naugher family during their time of bereavement. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.SunsetBrown-Funeral.com
