Jerry Koon

Jerry was a devoted husband of 42 years, a loving father and the best Poppy to his precious grandchildren.

Jerry was an avid fisherman and for more than 20 years he coached and mentored girl’s church league softball.

Jerry loved his family but most of all, he loved The Lord.

Preceding him in death are his mother, Louise Shirley Koon and daughter-in-law, Pamela Renee Koon.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sharon Hudson Koon; daughter, Amy Koon Woolbright (David); sons, Jeffrey Lane Koon (Stacia) and Jason Randall Koon (LeTrice); father, Henry Marvin Koon (Carolyn); brothers, Douglas Koon (Wanda), Larry Koon (Libby) and Bobby Koon (Bobbie Morrison); sister, Jacqueline Brewer (Frank); grandchildren, Austin Levi Woolbright, Ally Renee Woolbright and Kaleigh Michele Bolton.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 29, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Sunset Memorial Park in Northport. Rev. Keith Roberts and Rev. James Boles will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be Donnie Graves, Tom Bobitt, Joe Carr, Braxton Bobitt, Jackson Graves and Ben Hamner.

Honorary pallbearers are Jayden Fisher, Griffin Roberts, Hanson Bobitt, Keisha Seck, Dana Galloway, Sharon Cantrell, Scott Peters, Tijuana Bishop, Leshetta Acoff, and Roy and Sandy Hamilton with Comfort Care Hospice, DCH Home Health, members of Faith First Ministry, Dr. David Harding and staff, Dr. Grant Skalnik and staff, Healthcare and Workers’ employees at Phifer, Inc. and Jann’s Pharmacy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Faith First Ministry. Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Park, a Dignity Memorial Provider, are in charge of arrangements.
