Joel Patrick Calabrese Jr.

Joel Patrick Calabrese Jr., age 45, of Coker, died June 15, 2013, in Greene County with his mother. Visitation will be 6-8pm June17,2013 at Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday June 18, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home.Services will be conducted by Bro. Kelly Jolly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pat Calabrese; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. O.V. Strickland, Mrs. Mary Stevens, and Mr. Joseph Calabrese.

Survivors include his mother, Shirley Calabrese; his sons, Joel Patrick Calabrese III and James Ridge Calabrese; his special granddaughters, Whitney Richardson and Montana Thigpen; his special partner Margaret Swindle; his aunts, Annie Merle Boothe, Vickie Akridge (Aubrey); his uncles, Bud Strickland (Bland) and James Strickland (Helen); several cousins and other relatives; and his son, Ridge’s, mother, Jennifer Boyd.

Joey was a wonderful son, father, partner, and friend to everyone he met. Anyone who ever met or even talked to Joey never forgot him or his quick wit. He always had a smile and fast comeback for everything. He was an avid hunter and fisherman – he especially enjoyed these with his sons.

Pallbearers are Doug Pugh, Mark Pugh, Mark Brides, R.P. (Ronnie) Powell, Randall Marshall, and Craig Kilgore.

Honorary Pallbearers are all past and present friends, employees of Ferguson Enterprises and Summit Pipe, Sharon Pugh, Amy Pugh, Marsha Bridges, Roy and Janie Pugh, Stephanie Marshall, Josh and Marti Gilmore, friends and neighbors of the Coker community, and friends and neighbors at the river.
