John Edward "Johnny" Powell age 61, of Northport, died Jan. 14, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Powell; sister, Tonya Revette West; nephew, Chris West; and special grandmother, Floy Moore.
Survivors include his mother, Minnie Revette Bonner; nephews, Dallas and Jessie; nieces, Leah, Tiffany, and Taylor; aunt and uncle, A.L. and Neta Swindle; and many other cousins and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Gilliam, Todd Gilliam, Jerry Turner, Tommy Nobles, Jim Revette, and Dallas West.
