TUSCALOOSA Margie Catherine Murphy Skinner, age 85, of Tuscaloosa, died June 23, 2011, at Forest Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Park with Pastor Norris McDaniel officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen H. Skinner, Sr.; son, Rocky L. Skinner; brother, Carson Murphy; sister, Myrtle Griffith; nephew, Kenneth Green; and parents, John and Mary Lucy Murphy.
Survivors include her daughters, Delta Jones and Angie Richardson (Stewart); sons, Dalton Skinner, Owen H. Skinner, Jr. (Jane), and Eric Jones; sisters, Pearl Watters, Audrey Bell, and Mary Lancaster (Robert); brothers, Wilburt Murphy and Ottis Murphy; and grandchildren, Brooke Walton and Samantha Walton (due late summer).
The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Forest Manor Nursing Home, specifically the caregivers on Station 2 for the loving care rendered to our mother during her final months of life. We thank you from the bottoms of our hearts and the depths of our souls.
Due to the heat, attendees should feel free to wear appropriate, casual attire.
