

SARALAND | Paul Manuel McMillian, age 90, of Saraland, Ala. died September 22, 2015, at home. Service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Albert Lyles officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy McMillian; father, Alex McMillian; mother, Easter McMillian; brothers, Bockie McMillian and Johnny McMillian; and sister, Chris Hutto.
Survivors include his wife, Ann McMillian of Saraland, Ala.; daughter, Brenda Henson (Terry) of Saraland, Ala.; sister, Loreine Gant (Glenn) of Northport, Ala.; brother, Ruben McMillian (Betty) of Northport, Ala.; grandchildren, Sharee Dunnam (Jimmy) of Saraland, Ala. and Terry Henson (Hope) of Huntsville, Ala.; and great-grandchildren, Justin and Joshua ""Paul"" Dunnan (namesake) and Faith, Grace and Trinity Henson.
Paul volunteered into the United States Navy and served ten years during World War II and the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he attended the University of Alabama on the GI bill.
He worked for BF Goodrich for 34 years and retired as a shift foreman.
Paul was a very active member of Flatwoods Baptist Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus. He loved cooking at Brotherhood and making peanut brittle for the Pumpkin Patch.
He and Ann relocated to Saraland five years ago to be near their daughter.
Paul's favorite pass times were being on the Warrior River in his boat fishing and alone with God.
He loved his wife and family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him ""Daddy Mac.""
Paul was loved by everyone.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of Flatwoods Baptist Church of Northport, Ala.
Honorary pallbearers are neighbors of Flatwoods, Clayton Brown family, Jane Ball family, Gary Herring family, Jim and Carol Neville and Gentiva Hospice, who added so much to his life this past year.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in his memory to Flatwoods Baptist Church or Gentiva Hospice.
