Jay Bird made Tuscaloosa HIS home for the majority of his life. He certainly made us all feel at home. He was a gifted musician with no instrument he could not play. He was inducted to the All American Hall of Fame and traveled Europe with the United States Collegiate Wind Band. Jay's greatest and most accomplished instrument was his voice. He started in radio at the age of 15. He was most recently known locally as THE JAYBIRD on Catfish Country. But just as importantly, he leaves behind a legacy of kind, charitable and generous works. He was a Master Mason and a Shriner. He never met a stranger and everyone knows that smile. He gave us all laughter and endless entertainment... So, "Dark and Early", we will be missing you "In the Air Chair" but if you listen closely I bet you can still hear him. Condolences may be offered at www.sunset-brownfuneral.com.
