Phillip W Wood

NORTHPORT | Phillip W. Wood, age 54, of Northport, died June 28, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Sunset Chapel with Dan Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at the funeral home.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Harrison; and brother, Greg Wood.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Wood; daughter, Alex McPherson ( Justin); son, Tyler Wood; sisters, Dianne Alphord (Reisel), Lisa Fancher (Rickey), and Tammy Hyatt (Tony); brothers, Otis Wood (Pam), Kevin Harrison, and Mike Harrison(Gretta); father, Stan Harrison; and grandchildren, James Alex McPherson and Layla McPherson.

Phillip had a heart of gold and was truly a blessing to all who knew him. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend. He loved spending time with family and friend. He loved spending time with family and friends, cooking, and laughing.Phillip was an avid Alabama football fan. He treasured time spent helping to coach his son's baseball team throughout the years. He was so proud to watch Tyler on the baseball field. His daughter and grandchildren brought him joy. They brought light to his world. Phillip will be greatly missed. His love, kindness and dedication have left a wonderful legacy.

Pallbearers will be Dale Rowland, Danny Hicks, Matt Wood, Chad Alphord, Justin McPherson, and Rickey Holland.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Dwayne Tooson, Dr. Craig Buettner, and the staff of Hospice of West Alabama.
