Ronald Wade Raney

Ronald Wade Raney, age 22, of Northport, died Oct. 8, 2010, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Carrolls Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Skelton officiating. Burial will follow in Carrolls Creek Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Survivors include his mother, Nancy Raney; his father, Ron Raney; his brothers, JC Raney (Brittany) and Shane Raney (Miranda); his sister, Cassie Raney Clark (Justin); and his niece, Kaitlyn Clark.

Wade was loved by all. He had a heart of gold and would do anything he could to help another. He loved his family so much and especially loved spending time with his niece Kaitlyn. He was honored and proud to serve his country as a Marine.

Pallbearers will be John Truitt, Jim Truitt, Lowell Cleckler, Nate Hamner, Jay Thomas, and Chris Lindsey.

Honorary pallbearers are Drs. Givhan, Hall, Slaughter, and Azam, nurses and staff on 3rd floor MICU, VA Medical Center and Dr. Cord, Doyle Hart and employees of Winn-Dixie on Watermelon Road, special girlfriend Ashley Lancaster, and Benny and Talmage Butts.
