NORTHPORT | Rosie Ethel Holcomb, age 85, of Northport went home to be with her Lord on Dec. 21, 2013, at Forest Manor Nursing Home surrounded by family and friends. A private graveside service for the family will be held at Memory Hill Gardens with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Family visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. at Sunset Chapel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Holcomb; and her parents, Clifton and Katie McClain.
Survivors include her children, Janie Bagwell (Elmer) of Fosters, Sue Salvador (Tino) of Arab, J.C. Hunter (Marilyn) of Elrod, John Hunter (Peggy) of Oxford, Miss., Danny Holcomb (Angela) of Northport, Jerry Holcomb (Trina) of Tuscaloosa, and Tony Holcomb of Duncanville; brothers and sisters, Mildred Wiggins, Willie (Mary) McClain, Wilma Hicks, Daisy ((John) Collins of Bay Minette, and Polly (Mitch) Johnson of Mobile; grandchildren; 13 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the many caregivers and friends at Forest Manor Nursing Home over the past nine months.
