Ruth Dillard

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church on Monday April 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service, Bro. Tim Fields and Bro. Ken Cheeks officiating.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Sydney K. Dillard; parents, Rufus and Emma Stephens; brothers, Robert Stephens and George Stephens; sisters, Margaret Parker, Irene Rankin and Opal Payne.

Survivors include her son, Stephen Dillard, Tuscaloosa AL; daughter, Stephenie Dillard (James Geyer), Coker AL; grandson, Parker Dillard, Knoxville TN; granddaughters, Sydney Geyer, Brooklyn, NY and Emery Geyer (Vincenzo Musico), Raleigh, NC.

Mrs. Dillard was a much loved member of the Bethany community and Bethany Baptist Church. She retired from the Library System at the University of Alabama after 28 years of faithful service. She will be greatly missed by her loving family, her church and a host of friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
