TUSCALOOSA – Sarah Kizziah “Faye” Smith, age 83, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died June 6, 2018, at home. Services will be 3 p.m. today, June 8, 2018, at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Victor Bonner officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was preceded in death by her late husbands, John Earl Smith and Buddy Shirley; parents, Ben and Cedera Kizziah; and sisters, Molly Kizziah Bigham and Berniece Tierce.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Smith Hargrove of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sons, Donald Smith, Sr. (Cynthia) of Northport and Jeremy B. Cole of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brother, Hershel Kizziah (Harriet) of Centreville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Randy Estes and Carla Estes, both of Okla., Donnie Smith, Jr. of Northport, Ala. and Jeremy Smith of Ga.; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild
Faye was a loving mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She often went to the rescue of her family and friends in their time of need.
Faye was a fun spunky person who enjoyed taking trips and working in her flower beds. She made many friends and she had one very special friend who she adopted as her daughter, Mona Little.
Faye had a very special relationship with her caregivers, Jeremy and Wanda Cole to include Johnny, Kayla and Michael Cole. They made her last years on earth so happy.
Faye loved her siblings very much and we know she is in Heaven rejoicing with her sisters, Molly and Berniece. She was a Christian and loved the Lord. Our lives have been greatly blessed by having her in them and she will be greatly missed.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Smith, Jr., Jeremy Smith, Wyatt Estes, Michael Cole, Larry Estes and James Shirley
Honorary pallbearers are Amedisys of Tuscaloosa, Dr. Kevin Katona, Dr. Ben Lucy, Dr. Jeffrey Anderson and two special nurses, Jamie and Danielle Amedisys.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Amedisys Hospice of Tuscaloosa.
