NORTHPORT - Susan Merline Ballard Burns slipped peacefully away to her heavenly home on February 1, 2018. Born November 12, 1919, she spent 98 years touching countless lives, and leaving a legacy of love and caring for others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyle Cleovis Burns and daughter, Eleanor Kay Burns Robison.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, David (Jane) and Steve (Kay) Burns, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and two more great-grandchildren who won't arrive in time to experience her wonderful love.
She was a woman of wise counsel, wonderful wit, unfailing love and always put others before herself.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Five Points Baptist Church in Northport on February 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West Alabama.
