Efstathia “Effie” Petalas, a beloved mother, daughter, and grandmother, passed away on December 24th, 2025, at the age of 68. She will be remembered for her warm spirit, boundless love, and the countless sacrifices she made for those she held dear.
Effie devoted her life to her sons, whom she loved with her whole heart. Her selflessness knew no bounds as she put their needs before her own, creating a home filled with warmth and unwavering support. Her love extended deeply to her parents and extended family, maintaining close bonds that reflected the importance she placed on family ties.
Known for her outgoing nature and infectious happiness, Effie had a rare gift for connecting with people. She could strike up a conversation with anyone, turning strangers into friends within moments. Her genuine interest in others and her warm smile made everyone feel welcomed and valued.
In recent years, one of her greatest joys was her grandson, Taso, whom she cherished beyond measure. The love between them was a beautiful testament to her generous heart.
Effie is survived by her son Apostolos, grandson Anastasios, and daughter in-law Pauline.

A visitation will be held at Bastian and Perrott, Oswald Mortuary, located at 18728 Parthenia Street, Northridge, California, 91324, on January 6, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 9501 Balboa Blvd., Northridge, California, 91325, on January 7, 2026, at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at Oakwood Memorial Park, 22601 Lassen St., Chatsworth.
