her BA in Education from Grove City College and started teaching English at McKeesport High School.
She was also pursuing her pilot's license in Dayton, Ohio.
She moved with her husband, Herbert Glenn Hakanson, to California in 1954. She started a very successful
catering business with her good friend, Lorene Lundquist. Marion was a long time member of the Northridge
Women's Club and the Assistant League. She also served many years as a volunteer in the gift shop
at the Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Marion passed away on March 26, 2025. She is survived by her sons, Glenn G. (Helen) and Mark R.
(Marisol), her five grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin, Erik, Lauren and Weston along with her four great
grandchildren, Talia, Audrey, Dean and James.
