

Margaret passed away peacefully at her home in Northridge, California on August 10, 2013. She was 91 years old. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Charles (Chuck), her sister Louise Luppens of Hilliard, OH, her four sons Charles Jr. (Marty) of San Diego, Michael of Westminster, CO, Paul (Denise) of Sausalito, CA and Norman (Mary) of Morgan Hill, CA, 11 grandchildren & 13-1/2 great-grandchildren. Daughter Linda, born with severe brain damage and dearly loved by her family, predeceased her in 2008 while living at the Chatsworth facility of United Cerebral Palsy (UCP).
Raised on a farm near Toledo, OH, during the Great Depression, she was high school valedictorian, magna cum laude in Accounting from University of Toledo and the 1st female in the Toledo chapter of the National Association of Cost Accountants. She obtained a Masters in Religious Education from Immaculate Heart College in 1973 and a MBA from Cal State Northridge.
The family moved from Ohio in 1959 and settled in Northridge. She was president of the Women’s council and taught catechism at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She was the Controller for UCP and later a volunteer. She liked to play bridge, watch sitcoms & the Lakers, and loved her hot chocolate.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm with Rosary being said at 7:00 pm and will be held at Bastian-Perrott Mortuary 18728 Parthenia Street, Northridge. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes, 18405 Superior Street, Northridge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to United Cerebral Palsy, 6430 Independence Avenue, Woodland Hills, CA 91367.
