William Fox

It is with deeply saddened hearts that we share the news of the passing of William (Bill) Fox on Friday, January 6, 2017, at 9:45 A.M., at his home in Van Nuys, CA. Bill was born in Baltimore, MD, August 13, 1922. While still in his adolescence, Bill moved to CA with his family. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II, and shortly thereafter, in May 1946, he met his beloved wife and life-long partner, Helen LaFaun Prough. After a short courtship, they were married on September 26, 1946. Bill served on the Los Angeles Police Department for 20 years, followed by 15 years of service for the Automobile Club of Southern California, before retiring in 1981. Bill was heavily involved with the YMCA for many, many years, and also a Mason in Van Nuys Masonic Lodge # 450. Bill and Helen were married for 62 years before Helen’s passing in June of 2009. Bill is survived by his children; daughter Rhonda Jean Colgan and her husband Patrick Colgan of Palmdale, CA; son James Robert Fox of Van Nuys, CA; son Charles Edward Fox and his wife Barbara of Prospect Harbor, ME; 4 grandchildren & 5 great-grandchildren. Bill was a Godly man, a man of morals, his word was his bond, and would do anything for you and always greeted you with a smile. He was a devout family man, which meant everything to him. While our hearts are fractured beyond what words can express, we rejoice knowing that he has joined Helen and family with our Heavenly Father for all eternity.
