

She was born in Norwich, CT on Feb. 15, 1920 to the late James and Lillian (Dombroski) Chester. After completing school she married her beloved husband Milo Gardner Sr., in 1938. He predeceased her in 2001.
Agnes worked as a Librarian at N.F.A. and enjoyed reading, especially studying Egypt, doing NY Times crosswords and spending time with family. She was a member of the Carmelite Order and a communicant of the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich.
Agnes is survived by her sons; Milo Gardner Jr and wife Joan, James Gardner and wife Cheri, Lance Gardner and wife Gerri, Robert Gardner Sr and wife Joanne, one daughter; Teryl Smead and husband Bob, 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers; Raymond and James Chester, and sisters; Lillian Donahue, Kathleen McNicol, and Doris Danowski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Sept. 19th at 10am at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, 213 Broadway, Norwich, CT meeting directly at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be Thursday Sept 18th from 6pm-8pm at the Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Av., Norwich, CT.
