Alan F Balawender

He was born November 5, 1944, son of the late August and Mary (Straub) Balawender.

Alan graduated from NFA Class of 1962 as class valedictorian, and received his BS in Business Administration from UCONN.

Alan was known for his friendly demeanor, his jokes and his love of photography. He was a professional salesman for several local businesses during his career, including Al Abraham and Petrowsky Real Estate. He was a frequent customer for coffee at the former Bee Bee Dairy.

He is survived by his sister Jean E. Clark and her son Chase of Noank, sister Gail E. DeLaney of Norwich and her daughter Kelly Goulet-Chase of West Hartford, and by several cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew Christopher T. Clark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Norwich at 10 am, meeting directly at Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Norwich.
