

Jewett City-Alan E. Crandall, age 65, of Jewett City passed away at William W. Backus hospital in Norwich on March 9, 2010. He was born in New London, CT on December 1, 1944 to the late Arnold and Sybil (Chase) Crandall. He was married to his loving wife Linda Marciniak.
Alan had a passion for nature and wildlife, loved fishing and target shooting and was a member of the NRA. Alan will be sorely missed by his wife, his children and his two dogs.
Besides his wife Linda, he is survived by a son Alan Eugene Crandall and his wife Theresa of Center Groton, a son Michael Crandall of North Stonington, a son Mark McNeil of Ledyard, a daughter Jessica Crandall of New London, a daughter Renee Lazuk of Florida and a grandson Nickolas Crandall. He also leaves behind a sister Jean Vos of Preston, a sister Gayle Corallino of New London, a sister in law Edna Crandall of North Stonington, 2 dogs Zack and Jesse, as well as many nieces and nephews. Alan was predeceased by a brother Richard Crandall and a sister Loretta Haluga.
Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at St. James Church in Preston on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Poquetonuck Cemetery.
