Anastasia B. Mackie

Mackie- Anastasia Barbara Mackie, 87, of Uncasville passed away Friday afternoon May 29, 2015 at William Backus Hospital. She was born April 29, 1928 in Norwich daughter to Michael and Catherine Banas. She attended Falls School in Norwich, and St. Joseph School in Norwich. She was employed as a medical assistant for 21 years at the William Backus Hospital . She married Lawrence W. Mackie in Norwich on May 30, 1950. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son and daughter in law, William and Janice Mackie of Oakdale, two grandsons Brian J. Mackie of East Hampton, and William A. Mackie of Jupiter Florida, as well as four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sisters, Julia Lepak, Helen Koziol, and Antoinette Mulcahy. Visitation will be Thursday June 4, 2015 from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Avenue Norwich followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday June 4, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 52 West Town St. Norwich. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery Norwich. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Joseph School 120 Cliff St. Norwich Ct. 06360.
