Ann Sheila Taylor

Heaven gained a very sweet angel on November 27th. When Ann Sheila Taylor, age 86, passed away peacefully at L&M Hospital shortly after visiting with her close family. She left this world knowing that she was greatly loved and admired.

Ann, who preferred to be called Sheila, was born on November 7, 1935 to Harry and Rachel Burke in Boston Massachusetts. After graduating from Brighton High School in 1953, she attended Boston University, and enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps for 3 years.

Sheila worked for Thermos until they closed, then became employed by the State of Connecticut at Norwich State Hospital and Connecticut Valley Hospital from which she retired. During her retirement Sheila volunteered her time with a TVCCA program as a foster grandparent.

Sheila loved spending time with family, walking on nice days, bowling, and her feline friends. She is survived by her sister Toby Tuckman, her partner Burt Like, children, Tab, partner Dee, Daniel, wife Sandra,children Rachel and Erica. Son Howard Taylor and partner Sandi Chikan. Grandson, Christopher Carter, wife Tanya, children Triniti and Caidyn of New Hampshire. Granddaughter Barbie Taylor, fiancé John Jennings, children; Brycen Taylor and Raeanna Jennings. Granddaughter Autumn Taylor. She also leaves 9 loving cousins from MA., ME., GA. and Fl.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday Dec. 1, 2021 1:00 p.m. at the Church and Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem Street Norwich. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery Norwich.
