A lifelong resident of Norwich, Antoinette (Toni) was born May 30, 1932, to Rocco and Vincenza (Culotta) Fazio. She and her five siblings enjoyed growing up on Arnold Street. Toni graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1950 and worked at the University of Connecticut in Storrs until returning home to take care of her ailing mother. Toni and Frank were united in marriage on November 26, 1955, and lived on Norton Court the rest of their lives.
With their three children, they enjoyed vacations at Groton Long Point and Cape Cod. Toni and Frank also traveled to numerous Dime Bank conventions, including trips to Tennessee, Florida, and Arizona. After their two granddaughters were born, they continued their trips to the “Cape of Cod”, making lots of fond memories at home and away.
Toni was a kind and social person, devoted to her family for whom she kept house and cooked delicious Italian meals and a special cake for each birthday. She was energetic and civic-minded, always interested in current events.
Toni was pre-deceased by her husband of over 56 years, Frank, as well as by her five siblings, Joseph, Frances, Josephine, Mario, and Rocco. She is survived by her three children, Douglas (Norma Fraser), Michael (Brenda Bergeron), and Patricia. Patricia gave her mother devoted full-time care and assistance for many years. Toni is also survived by her two grandchildren, Emily (David McCollum) and Katie.
