She was the beloved daughter of Susan Lorinsky and the late Lorin Lorinsky, and a devoted sister to Jesse, Jared (Jen), and Corey (Liz). Ashley shared a meaningful and loving partnership with John Martinez, who was a constant source of support and companionship in her life.
Ashley pursued her passion for the environment through her education, earning a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies from Brandies University and later completing her master’s degree at the University of Michigan. She brought that dedication into her professional life through her work with the Eastern Connecticut Conservation District, where she contributed to the protection and stewardship of natural resources in her community.
Ashley also had a deep love for horses, which became one of the defining joys of her life. She was the proud owner of two beloved mares, Olivia and Golan, and spent countless hours riding and caring for them. Through this passion, she became a certified riding instructor and earned certification in therapeutic riding, sharing her knowledge and love of horses with others in a way that was both meaningful and healing.
Known for her thoughtful nature and steady presence, Ashley was someone who listened deeply, cared sincerely, and gave generously of herself. Her warmth, intelligence, and quiet strength left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich, Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ashley's memory to the Flying Free Therapeutic Riding Center of North Franklin, Connecticut (flyingfreetherapeuticriding.org) or to the American Cancer Society.
She will be remembered with love by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the values she held dear.
