Barbara Mae Terpe

Barbara Mae (Greiner) Terpe, age 97 of Preston, widow of Frederick Terpe passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025. Born November 12, 1928 to the late William and Laura (Couillard) Greiner of Preston. She married Fred on July 31, 1949. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary before his passing.

Barbara was a 1946 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. She enjoyed spending time in her garden full of flowers and feeding and watching all the various birds that would come and sit on her feeders. She also enjoyed cooking for the family. A long time communicant of St. James Episcopal Church of Poquetanuck.

She is survived by her 3 sons Reverend Richard Terpe of Griswold, Frederick Terpe and his wife Allison of Preston, and Kurt Terpe of Preston. She is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich, CT on Friday, December 5th from 6:00 -8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 6th at 10 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, 95 CT Route 2A in Preston. Burial will follow immediately at the Poquetanuck Cemetery across the street from the church.
