He was born in Norwich on Dec. 23, 1941 to the late Walter and Ellen Johnson. Carl graduated from Boston University and owner and operated Johnson Oil until his retirement. Thereafter he worked for Curtin Livery.
Carl was a member of the Bozrah Fire Dept, their softball team and on a bowling league at the Norwich 10-Pin. He was also a member of AA and OA.
He is survived by his son; Carl Johnson Jr., daughter; Karin Johnson, grandchildren; Nicholas, Chantelle, Bianca, Venus, Anthony, Jonathan, Kenan, Elesheia and great-grandchildren; Bailey, Hazel, Aeriss, Kyrie, and Bella. He was predeceased by his four sisters.
Calling hours will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, Aug 30th at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. There are no services and burial is private at the convenience of the family.
