

Preston- Chester Joseph Drong Jr., age 58, of Preston, passed away on May 12, 2015 at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. He was born on August 27, 1956 to the late Chester Drong Sr. and Stella (Kozlowski) Drong. He is survived by his wife Ishbel McInnes-Drong.
Chester worked was a carpenter at Electric Boat for over 38 years. He was also a life member of the Poquetanuck volunteer fire department, 8 years as deputy chief, and an associate member of the Preston VFW. Although Chester was an avid Harley Davidson owner and loved riding his motorcycle, he also showed a softer side, evidenced by his devotion for his 3 cats.
Along with his loving wife Ishbel, he is survived by a sister Carole Drong and her partner Mr. Terry Klein of Mystic, stepsons Don, Kevin, and Barry of Georgia and 8 step grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. A service will begin at the funeral home at 2:30 on that day.
