David G McNary

David G. McNary, 76, was born to Gloria Wood and Philip McNary Feb. 11, 1947 in Hartford. He lived in Glastonbury, Preston, Norwich, Ledyard and passed on Aug. 11, 2023, at his final destination, Lyme.

During his life he was the Owner of Discount Tire, Groton, as well as 14 other outlets throughout Connecticut. In addition, he was President of American Tire in East Hampton.

He married Jeanne Desrosiers, who survives him, in Hartford. They have two children Dawn Leslie (John Burks) and David Jean (Georgia) who also survives him. David and Jeanne traveled extensively during the 80s and 90s to Hong Kong, Switzerland, Paris, Hawaii and of course to many Super Bowl Games.

He was predeceased by his mother and father. Apart from his wife and children, David is survived by five grandchildren, Nicholas, Coral (Hal), Caitlin, Marissa, and Jesse. He is also survived by his sister Gloria McNary; and brothers, Dennis (Donna) McNary, and Douglas (Dana Perkins) McNary.

Calling hours for David will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023, at Church & Allen Funeral Service, 136 Sachem Street, Norwich. A funeral home service will occur right after at noon followed by burial at Maplewood Cemetery, 184 Salem Turnpike Norwich.
