

Norwich-Donald A. Hart, age 90, of Norwich, formally of Keeseville, NY passed away peacefully at his home on August, 19, 2013 after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born on May 5, 1923 in Ausable Forks, NY to the late Alexander and Lila (Duel) Hart. He was married to the late Loretta (Bleau) Hart for more than 50 years.
Donald worked as a cabinetmaker for many years at Prescotts in Keeseville, NY and Helikon in Norwich, CT. He also worked as a welder at Electric Boat and retired from the SEAT bus company. He loved music and could play several instruments. He enjoyed fishing boating, gardening and his dogs. He spent much of his later life at Pachaug Lake with his family.
He is survived by a son James Hart of Frederick, MD, a son Thomas Hart of Naugatuck, a son Bruce Hart of Canterbury, a daughter Charlotte Apperson of Canterbury, a daughter Starlene Makara of Scotland, and a daughter Sally Thornton of Canterbury. He also leaves behind a brother Robert Hart of Essex, VT, a sister Catherine Cook of Washington, 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son Gary A. Hart, a brother Bernard Hart, a sister Marion (Hart) Bleau and a grandson David Makara.
Family and friends may visit Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich TONIGHT from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Norwich.
