Dorothy Mae Elliott Lafferty

Dorothy Mae (Elliott) Hyde Lafferty of Norwich, died peacefully, Monday, November 15, 2010 at Masonicare of Newtown, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Ridge Farm, Illinois on September 7, 1928 to the late Walter and Margaret (Doyle) Elliott. At the age of 1 she and her family moved to Norwich, CT. She was married to the late Ernest J. Hyde Sr. and the late Hugh L. Lafferty.

Dorothy is survived by eight children; a son Ernest Hyde Jr. of Vero Beach, FL., a son Michael Hyde and his wife Robin of Vero Beach, FL., a son Robert Hyde and his wife Bernadette of Norwich, a son Walter Hyde and his wife Karen of Danbury, a son Glenn Hyde and his wife Debbie of Danbury, a son Wayne Hyde of Newtown, a son Rocky Hyde and his wife Debbie of Danbury, and a daughter Gail Smith and her husband David of Beach Lake, PA. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a brother Walter Elliott, and 2 sisters Peggy Porter and Laverne Leschinsky.
