

He was born on March 1, 1928 in Boston, MA to the late Edward J and Anna (Mullen). Edward was married on Sept. 5, 1953 in Malden, MA to the late Marguerite (Groves) who predeceased him on May 18, 2001. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served honorably during WWII, Korea and Vietnam until he retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer. Edward then served many years as a Ship Safety Superintendent at E.B. in Groton until his retirement. He enjoyed his work and animals.
Ed is survived by his sons: Edward J. Glennon III and his wife Michelle of Eugene, OR., Jeffrey Glennon of Gales Ferry, CT, and grandchildren; Alexandra, Jessica, Raelisa and Erik Glennon, 4 great-grandchildren and his faithful canine companion, “Odie”.
Calling hours will be Thursday evening from 6pm-8pm at the Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday at 11am at the Gales Ferry Cemetery, Hurlbutt Rd., Gales Ferry, CT.
