Norwich-Edward Joseph Wasilewski Jr., age 79, of Norwich, passed away at William W. Backus Hospital on July 18, 2021. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on June 19, 1942 to the late Edward Joseph Wasilewski Sr and Jennie Eva (Saflicki) Wasilewski.
Ed was an avid boater and owned many auto shops in Norwich over the years. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Edward is survived by a sons Edward Joseph Wasilewski III and his wife Nicole of Maine, Joseph Edward Wasilewski and his wife Erica of Oakdale, Donald Thomas Wasilewski and his wife Liz of Ohio and daughters Deborah Ann Bialowas and her husband Timothy of Lisbon, Darlene Lynn Dowell and her husband Daniel of Tennessee, and Tammy Lee Wasilewski and her husband Richard Leonard of Norwich. He also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a sister Sonya Malavenda of Arizona. He is predeceased by his loving wife Marilyn (Busha) Wasilewski and an adoring grandson Michael Anthony Wasilewski.
A graveside service will be held on Monday July 26th at 10:00 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery, 184 Salem Turnpike, Norwich. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Edward’s honor to Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
