Elaine H. (Hofer) Therrien, age 64, of North Stonington passed away early Saturday morning after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on July 6, 1961 in Norwich to the late Harry and Rosanna (Ayer) Hofer.
Elaine is survived by two sisters Rosann Travis of Springfield, VA and Barbara Murray (John) of Windsor, ME, and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Ralph Lechner and former husband Carl Therrien.
Elaine graduated from Wheeler High School and maintained lifelong friendships with a few of her closest and dearest friends. She loved to read listen to music. She especially liked live music and it didn’t matter if it was local talent or concerts at local venues.
Elaine is also remembered for her love of children, especially her nieces Susan, Chanel, Kristen and their children. She was the quintessential auntie – she was perfect. She didn’t limit her attention to only family but was auntie and Godmother to many other children. No concert, dance recital or graduation was complete without Elaine sitting in the audience cheering for her kids. She enthusiastically attended such events for as long as her health permitted.
Elaine’s bubbly and effervescent personality lit up a room and always brought a smile to someone needing it. She was loved by many and is sorely missed A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
