Fernande J. Fortin

She was born September 12, 1938 in St. Honore’, Quebec, the daughter of the late Pierre and Josephine (Vaillancourt) Morin.

She married Andre Fortin June 2, 1962 at St. Honore’ Church in Quebec. He survives her.

She was a long time Guild member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Gales Ferry and she loved to read and garden.

In addition to her loving husband Andre, she is survived by her sons Pierre Fortin, Tom Fortin and wife Raschida, sister Louisette Fortin and husband Albert, 3 brothers and 3 sisters in Canada, and step granddaughter Jessica Franklin, husband Rhodni, and 4 step Great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Lucien.

Calling hours will be held at the Church and Allen Funeral Home at 136 Sachem St. in Norwich on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 5-9 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial and reception will be celebrated Tuesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1650 Rte 12 in Gales Ferry at 9:30 am, where donations to the Guild may be made. Burial will follow in Avery Stoddard Cemetery.
