

Frances J. Rondeau 1943-2022 Norwich- Frances (Renaldi) Rondeau 78, died peacefully at home in her sleep on Jan. 29, 2022. Born in Norwich on Nov. 17, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Crociotto “Cooch” and Natalie (DeLucia) Renaldi. On October 12, 1968 at Saint Patrick Cathedral, she was united in marriage to her husband of 50 years, Omer L. Rondeau, who died on October 27, 2018. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
After graduating from Norwich Free Academy in 1961, she went on to work as a secretary for William Stanley, a stockbroker and Norwich Historian. She also helped him campaign for the State Senate, transcribed the public hearings in Hartford when he was legislating the nation’s first Clean Water Act and was instrumental by writing many historic features for national magazines. She also transcribed his weekly column in the Norwich Bulletin “Once Upon a Time”. She retired after nearly 49 years of working for him.
Surviving are a son Michael and his wife Melissa Rondeau of Norwich, a daughter Amy and her husband Jeffrey McKinney Jr, of Lebanon and two precious grandchildren Kyla and Gavin McKinney who were the light of her life. A sister in law Jeanette (Rondeau) Gadle, 3 nieces, a nephew, as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister Rose Marie (Renaldi) Ernst and her nephew Kenneth Gadle.
Frances was a devout catholic and was a communicant of Saint Patrick Cathedral.
The family would like to express a very special “Thank You” to all who took part in her care throughout the years. We also thank Donna McClimon, Sheila Belanger from Hartford Health Care Independence at Home and Elyse Rose who tirelessly cared for her making sure she was comfortable and able to live at home. She appreciated you all.
Calling hours will be at Labenski Funeral Home on Monday February 7, 2022 from 10:30- 12:30 with a mass of Christian burial at 1:00 pm at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral 213 Broadway in Norwich, with burial to follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery. Masks are required for calling hours.
