Grace Brown Sterry

North Franklin-Grace (Brown) Sterry, age 82, passed away on April 6, 2012. She was born in Norwich on May 6, 1929 to the late Charles A. and Mary (Rogers) Brown. She married her loving husband Kenneth C. Sterry on June 24, 1950 at the Grace Episcopal Church in Yantic. He predeceased her on December 30, 1985. She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles E. Brown.

Grace worked as a bookkeeper at Haven’s Pools and was the Town Clerk and Tax Collector for the town of North Franklin, Connecticut. She was a member of the Connecticut Town Clerk Association, Eastern Star as well as the Norwich Fish and Game Club.

She is survived by a son Ken Sterry Jr. of Bozrah, a son Keith Sterry of Franklin, a daughter Vera Donch of Plainfield and a daughter Susan Little and her husband Rik of Norwich. She also leaves behind a sister Edna Handfield of Franklin, 6 grandchildren, Christopher Donch of Spokane Washington, Lynsey Malone of Canterbury, Heather Timney of Phoenix Arizona, Adam Little of Norwich, Samantha Little of Bedford New Hampshire and Ellen Sterry of Norwich, 1 great grandchild Garrett Malone and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich on Monday April 9 beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Reverend Linda Barnes will conduct the funeral service on Tuesday 11:00 a.m at the Church and Allen Funeral Home.
