He was born in Norwich, to the late Lawrence and Harriet (Ryan) Dixon Sr., both of whom predeceased him. After graduating high school he began working and loved every minute of being a union laborer whether it was building roadways or buildings. He just wanted to be outside working alongside his friends especially at Millstone until his retirement.
Jim is survived by his brother Lawrence Dixon and his wife Robin, his sister Kathryn Guinan and her husband William, several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
A Calling Hour will be held on Saturday, July 11th from 10 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 11am at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, CT. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
