Dayville-Jerry R. Thayer Sr., age 66, of Dayville passed away on November 30, 2021 at William W. Backus Hospital. Born in Norwich on October 14, 1955 to the late Raymond H. and Barbara A. (Plante) Thayer and married to Rhonda (Avery) Thayer on October 15, 1973 in Norwich CT.
Jerry owned and operated Jerry’s Repair LLC in Danielson and had a knack for fixing cars and helping others. Jerry’s true passion however was being on the open water with the love of his life Rhonda and a fishing pole. As a Husband, father, grandfather and friend he will be missed greatly.
Jerry leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years, Rhonda Thayer of Dayville, a son Jason R. Thayer of Georgia, a son Jimmy Ray Thayer and his wife Dana of Brooklyn, nine grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Leo John Thayer and his wife Margo of Washington State, a sister Betty Jean Thayer of San Diego, a sister Grace Marie Perez and her husband Nicholas of San Diego and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry is now reunited with his oldest son Jerry R. Thayer Jr who passed away in June of 2014.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
