Lashay Monique Gibbs

Lashay was born in Atlantic City, NJ on May 11, 1982 to Anthony McQueen and Linda Gibbs. She graduated from Norwich Free Academy in the year of 2000 and worked in the casino as a dealer for many years.

Lashay was a devoted mother who always put her kids first. She was a kind, loving, and selfless person that would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She enjoyed dancing, singing, cooking, and hosting events. She loved bringing people together and throwing parties that included family and friends. She was a people person who’s spirit lit up a room. She will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.

Lashay is survived by her daughters, Jasmyn Bransford and Juliana Ruperto; son, Jayden Gibbs; parents, Linda Polk, Anthony McQueen and Juanita Gibbs; sisters, Shabina Gibbs, Angela Tennant and Markel Gomes; brothers, Darrick Gibbs, Michael Gibbs, Anthony McQueen, Lamar Pitts and Michael McQueen; aunts and uncles, Walter Gibbs, Peggy McQueen and John McQueen; Grandmother, Peggy Clayton; and many other family members that loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, William Ralph Gibbs and Juanita Gibbs; aunts, Beverly Gibbs, Donna Livingston and Emma Bryant and uncle Ralph Gibbs.

Visitation will be held at Church and Allen Funeral Home, on Friday, October 28th from 9am-11am, followed by a funeral service. Burial will immediately follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
