Lillian E. Greenwood Pina

She was born on Sept. 27, 1919 in New York, NY to the late John and Ann (Rogers) Greenwood. After completing school she married her beloved husband Antone B. Pina who predeceased her on June 2, 1993.

Lillian worked as a sales person for the former John Meyers Inc., and owned/operated Lil’s Bargains and Treasures. She was active and led by the Lord in Calvary Baptist Church in Preston, and was on the Auxiliary to the Disabled Veterans, League of Mercy-Salvation Army, volunteer for R.S.V.P., a member of the Eastern Star, Project Independence, past Vice-president of the Norwich NAACP, and a member of the Norwich Senior Center. Even after having seven children, she still had love and time to give and became a foster parent. Her presence will be missed by her family, the community and the church.

She is survived by her children; Andrew Daniel, Keye S. Glover, Kevin L. Glover and Parche Rodriguez, a brother; Ralph Greenwood, one sister; Rosalie Belton, and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Antone, children; Arthur L. Daniel and Gregory S. Tate, brother; Nathaniel Rogers, and sister; Alice Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30am to 11am at Calvary Baptist Church, 95 RT 165, Preston, CT. Funeral Services will begin at 11am at the church followed by procession to Maplewood Cemetery in Norwich for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
