Linda Gayle Savage, 75, of Norwich, passed away peacefully at home among family and friends on January 9, 2016. She was the beloved wife of Delmar Lee Savage (d. 2006). Linda was born in Portsmouth, VA, in 1940 to Denzil and Marjorie (Curb) Cannedy; she was the first of four children in the family. Because her father was a naval officer, Linda and her siblings lived in several locales, including Hollis, Oklahoma, and ultimately Hamilton, Bermuda, where she graduated from high school, then met her husband-to-be, Lee. She was employed longest by Southern New England Telephone, the Corner Store (Taftville), and Foxwoods Casino. Her interests included crocheting and genealogy, and she was devoted to the community at Calvary Baptist Church in Preston. In the past 10 years, her greatest passion had been annual visits back to Bermuda. She leaves her son, Lynn M. Savage of Easthampton, Mass., and his wife, Heather L. Savage; her son Craig A. Savage of Plainfield, Conn., and his wife, Gail M. Savage; three grandchildren, Jason, Bryan, and Christine; two great-grandchildren, Destiny and Mason; her brother Douglas Cannedy and his wife, Sophia, of Rudy, Ark.; her sister Catherine ("Kay") and her husband, Victor Dziadek, of Russellville, Ark.; and her brother Michael Cannedy and his wife, Denise, in Van Buren, Ark. Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., January 16, 2016, at Pachaug Cemetary in Griswold. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church Preston.
