

Norwich-Mack Arthur Ruggs Sr., age 69, passed away on January 28, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 10, 1944 in Brundidge, Alabama to the late Floyd Ruggs and Mattie (Wheeler) Fowler. He married his loving wife Tonja (Mack) Ruggs on July 25, 1987 in Norwich. She survives him.
Mack graduated from NFA in 1963 where he played football, baseball and was a member of the track team. He worked for General Motors for over 50 years as a parts consultant. He had a love for fishing, gardening, and being outdoors.
Besides his loving wife, Mack is survived by a son Mack A. Ruggs Jr of Norwich, a daughter Lisa Ruggs of Atlanta, GA, a daughter Adrianne Wright and her husband Daniel of Columbus, GA., and a daughter Barbara Ruggs of Norwich. He also leaves behind a sister Johnnie Scott of Norwich, a sister Annie Younger of Bloomington, MN., a sister Johnnie Wright of New York, NY, an aunt Lula Ruggs of Mobile, AL., grandchildren Johanna, Jacinda, Cheyann, Tejshon and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Annie Flowers.
The family would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Slater and Staff, the nurses at William W. Backus Hospital on Floor A2, and the hospice staff that took wonderful care of him.
Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem Street Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held at a later date.
