Marian Hopkins

Marian was born April 30, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri the daughter of the late George and Mildred Feichtner Lawton.

A lifelong resident of Niantic and Madison, CT, Marian was a Registered Nurse, working at Yale Hospital and lastly in assistive homecare. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who cherished every family interaction throughout the years.

Marian is survived by three sons; Daniel Hopkins wife Bettejane of Deepriver , Edward Hopkins wife Barbara of South Berwick, Maine and Thomas Hopkins wife Christine of Madison CT; three brothers; Donald Lawton of FL, Thomas Lawton of Niantic and James Lawton of Windsor, A sister, Suzanne Leslie of NY, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marian expressed great joy in watching her family grow throughout her more than 60 year marriage to John B. Hopkins who predeceased her just 2 years ago.

A Small Chapel service will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 11:00 AM at the State of Connecticut Veterans’ Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane Middletown, CT.
