Marion Elizabeth Malley

Marion was born June 10, 1921 in Somerville, MA to Adelaide (Earle) and Perley H. Ryan. She had one brother, Melbourne Robinson of Medway, MA. Throughout her life he would call her ‘sis’ which she loved. Marion graduated from high school and the Mansfield Beauty School in Boston, MA. She married Thomas A. Malley on Nov. 17, 1942 in Alston, MA. Marion was an attentive and loving mother to her six children. When she wasn’t cooking or sewing up a storm, she was involved in a crochet project. Marion was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Faith Trumbull Chapter in Norwich, Conn. and served as Flag Chairwomen for a number of years. She loved children and even at the nursing home she lit up when her great grandchildren or other children were around.

Marion is survived by her six children. Patricia and her husband Ray Roselle, Catherine and her husband Michael Velgouse, Jr., Jo-Ann and her husband James Thompson, Gloria and her husband Jerome Beauchamp, Thomas Malley, Jr. and Joseph and his wife Mary Malley.

She was grandmother to Susan, Carol, Laura, Robert, Denise, James, Joseph, Jr., Katherine, Rachael and great grandmother to Caleb, Alaine, Istvan, Matty, Mathew, Mason, Emma and Erin.

Marion was predeceased by her grandson Robert Beauchamp, her brother, Melbourne Robinson, her, husband Thomas A. Malley, Sr. and her nephew John Malley.

A calling hour will be held at the Montville Funeral Home of Church and Allen on Friday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am and proceed to an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Johns Church, 22 Maple Ave. in Montville. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery in Montville.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marion’s memory may be made to ¬¬¬ L+M Cancer Center or the Alzheimer’s Association. The Malley family would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Hellman and Dr. Hansen of the L+M Cancer Center and the nurses and staff at Royal Westerly Nursing Home for taking such excellent care of our mother.
