

He was born in Dundee Scotland to the late Peter and Jane (Shepherd) Lennon. He came to America with his parents at the age of 12. On May 14, 1966 in Cheshire, CT, he married his beloved wife Maureen (Hyde) who survives him. They enjoyed 51 years together. He is also survived by his daughters; Heather Carlson of Waterford, Sheri Lambert of Norwich, and two grandsons; Andrew and Matthew Carlson.
Peter began his career as a bank teller quickly working his way up to Bank President. He started at the Federal Savings & Loan Bank of New London and through its various ownerships retiring as the President of Coastal Savings Bank.
He was active and involved in both his community and his church. He was a Deacon at Niantic Community Church also playing in the Bell Choir there. Peter and his wife were active as co-leaders in Youth Fellowship at the church.. He was a member of the JayCees, Lions Club where he was also a past president, the Thames Club, played golf, collected stamps and coins and assisted at the Soup Kitchen and Children’s Museum where he was also President. He will be missed by many.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday Feb. 16th at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich at 11am with burial immediately following at E. Lyme Cemetery. A Calling Hour will be held from 10am until the time of the service.
