Born in the Bronx, NY on Oct 22, 1931 to the late Max and Rose (Bernstein) Barber, the family moved to Connecticut where Phyllis graduated from N.F.A. in 1949. She married her beloved husband Sidney Plotkin in 1951 and spent 32 wonderful years together until his passing.
Phyllis and her husband owned and operated their own jewelry and gift business in Clinton, CT and enjoyed their time together at work and home truly showing how two become one in a marriage.
She was a congregant of Beth Jacob Synagogue and an integral part of the sisterhood thereof. In her later years, Phyllis devoted her time and love to her grandchildren who gave her much joy.
Phyllis is survived by her son, Mark Plotkin and wife Meryl, Daughters; Marge Stehman and husband Peter, Amy Filburn and husband Ron, sisters; Marsha Gillette and husband Bob, grandchildren; David Plotkin and wife Meaghan, Jason Plotkin, Sarah Salce and husband Reed, Jonathan McCoy and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister; Pauline Israelite and her husband Stanley.
Memorial Services to be held at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT on Thursday, July 12th at 11am with procession to Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery #3 on Middle Rd., Preston, CT.
